God @ Work: Work As Life

God @ Work: Work As Life

Pastor Charlie Weir & Jordan Beerry

Father, I ask for 2 things today, wisdom & favor.
The success that any of us have comes from, and out of, our submission to Christ in each work season.

Romans 5:1-5 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

Let me also circle back to Jordan’s prayer… up your prayer for wisdom + favor!

Wisdom is the low hanging fruit prayer.

James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

Praying for favor is a legitimate and honorably ask!

Psalm 90:17 May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us — yes, establish the work of our hands.

• Where you were has gotten you where you are. Where you are isn’t your end.

• Work/Live in the moment with purpose as worship.

• Don’t be timid in asking your Heavenly Father for wisdom and favor.

WORK/LIFE INTEGRATION
 - Balance creates opposition, tension and anxiety – integration works together to accomplish God’s will in you.

Stewardship is Leadership

Irenaeus: ‘The Glory of God is man fully alive.’

The Chief End of man is to… “To glorify God and enjoy Him forever!”

Prayer: God…

• Redeem my work – I give it to you!

• Restore my purpose – I give myself to you!

• Relocate me – I am lost!

It is ok to be disappointed. Disappointed isn’t an unhealthy place if it is a temporary place. Pray for a fresh wind and keep sailing.

It is ok to be dissatisfied. Dissatisfaction will push you for more but don’t run past contentment on your way to more. Contentment allows you to stay healthy and aligned with God on the path to more.

Do not be discouraged. Discouragement blinds you from the reality that God has never left you, He has not forsaken you and knows the best place and best timing for you.
