Constitutional Understanding

The 1973 Roe/Wade decision determined that abortion was a civil liberty protected by United States Constitution. If overturned it means abortion is no longer a personal liberty guaranteed by our Constitution.

Civics Understanding

The United States is not a direct democracy, we are a representative democracy also called a constitutional republic. We have a democratic process in which we elect representatives by a majority vote into 2 of the 3 branches of government – the Legislative and Executive. The Judicial Branch of government is appointed as to insulate it from the swings of prevailing public opinion.

Medical Understanding

Reproductive health is a deceptive term for a deceptive practice. Overwhelming medical evidence point to a child’s heart beating as early as 6 weeks and responding to sound outside of the mother’s womb as early as 14 weeks.

Operational Understanding

·      Don’t accept the premise that Pro-life is anti-woman. This is not a battle of personal freedom, it’s a battle of personal responsibility.

·      Don’t get baited into a religious argument. More people oppose religion than oppose the results of a 3D ultrasound. Faith and science are not mutually exclusive, use both in your position.

·      Balance your passion for the issue with compassion for people. Passion is a good thing but without compassion passion just runs people over

Why is Jesus unforgettable?

1.    He sees you, not past you.

2.    He leaves a mark, not just an impression.

3.    He is a catalyst for transformation. Jesus changes everything.

Luke 7:11-17
11 Soon afterward, Jesus went to a town called Nain, and his disciples and a large crowd went along with him. 12 As he approached the town gate, a dead person was being carried out—the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the town was with her. 13 When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, “Don’t cry.” 14 Then he went up and touched the bier they were carrying him on, and the bearers stood still. He said, “Young man, I say to you, get up!” 15 The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother. 16 They were all filled with awe and praised God. “A great prophet has appeared among us,” they said. “God has come to help his people.” 17 This news about Jesus spread throughout Judea and the surrounding country.

Jesus is unforgettable because His comprehension is comprehensive.

One of the most difficult emotional places in which to find yourself is feeling as if no one can possibly comprehend the depth of your fear, grief or pain.

No matter how real and raw those feelings are or how high those walls feel, nothing can block the seeing eyes of Jesus.

Luke 7:13 13 When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, “Don’t cry.”

Jesus Comprehensive Comprehension leads to…a Guttural Compassion.

Hebrews 4:14-16 14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Luke 7:14-15 14 Then he went up and touched the bier (buyer) they were carrying him on, and the bearers stood still. He said, “Young man, I say to you, get up!” 15 The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother.

Ephesians 2:5-10 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Jesus is the most unforgettable person ever because He has life giving power. His touch and His word bring forth life.

Unforgettable Jesus

1.    Jesus sees you with Comprehensive Comprehension. No circumstance or person is out of His realm of understanding.

2.    Jesus feels you with Guttural Compassion. No one is outside the realm of His compassion.

3.    Jesus touches you with Life-Giving Power. Nothing and no one is outside of His realm of resurrecting.

Luke 7:16-17 16 They were all filled with awe and praised God. “A great prophet has appeared among us,” they said. “God has come to help his people.” 17 This news about Jesus spread throughout Judea and the surrounding country.

Luke 4:18-21“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, 19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” 20 Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him21 He began by saying to them, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”
